
S.E. Hartz (she/her) is a writer born and raised in the Southern Tier of New York State and currently based in Washington, DC. An environmental scientist by training, she is drawn to creative work that explores catastrophes both ecological and personal, and the utopias we can create in their wake.
Her fiction has appeared in Lammergeier, Landlocked Magazine, Reckon Review, and elsewhere. During 2022, she was a columnist for Wind & Root, where she published craft essays on the connection between environmental work and visionary writing. Select works may be found under publications.
She is currently at work on a novel.
